a quote from my favorite author

“The most solid advice, though, for a writer is this, I think: Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep, really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive, with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell, and when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough.”

31 THINGS day eleven

I am participating in a class with Ali Edwards through Big Picture Classes called 31 Things.  Every day includes a word, writing prompts, dig deeper prompts, a writing tip, Ali's example, and a photo challenge.  In addition to the prompts, templates for a physical album and/or digital album are included.  I am creating a digital album and plan to share the results here over 31 days.

day eleven | nourish

one  | If I had to choose a single color of food to eat for the rest of my life, I would pick orange.  Macaroni and cheese is orange.  So are carrots.  I think pizza falls into the orange category too.  Enough said.

two | I am convinced that eating French fries helps me lose weight.  I believe there is something to the fact that I feel completely satisfied after eating French fries and, therefore, avoid extra snacking.

three  | I completely agree with Winona Judd’s statement that anyone who is able to stop herself from eating after 7pm each day deserves a Nobel Prize.

four | When it comes to dessert, my favorite is vanilla.  No matter what it is, I want vanilla.

five | At any given moment, I am likely to be carrying an emergency granola bar.

six  | Although I am not one of those people who could ever get so busy that I forget to eat, I am often battling dehydration because I forget to drink.

seven | I love raw vegetables, but I am not much of a fruit eater.

eight  | I think I have weird taste in food, so I am accustomed to not sharing food. I am always surprised when people like something I make.

nine | There are few things more comforting than walking into a house that smells of a home-cooked meal.

ten | While I don’t order the same thing at every restaurant, I am likely to place the same order each time I visit a restaurant.

  1. I like hearing about your food thoughts, Christy. My husband was never a snacker so "his" habits are what I think kept me honest about eating right! After 7 is a good tip for watching the eating! These are nice to read, & will be such a collection for you to return to for personal connections, or just seeing how you felt on a given day! Have a great week!
